KSOC TV: Addressing the Behavioral Health Needs of Adopted Children

KSOC-TV will explore ways that communities can support the behavioral health needs of children and youth who are adopted and their families. Trauma, neglect, and attachment issues are just some of the factors that affect affect the emotional and social well-being of children and young adults who have been adopted. These needs can be difficult to address due to lack of awareness or understanding by those who interact with children and families, including primary care providers, child welfare, and juvenile justice representatives, and educators. Likewise, parents can feel unprepared and ill-equipped to deal with these concerns.
