Program/Intervention Description

Designed to follow a client's initial stabilization in a 3- to 4-week intensive outpatient treatment program. Goals of the program are to reinforce abstinence, lengthen the time to possible relapse, and shorten relapse episodes when they do occur. Combines elements of low-intensity monitoring, social support, and adaptive levels of motivational interviewing (MI) counseling and cognitive-behavorial therapy (CBT) dependent on the client's risk level for relapse.
